The Story

Like all parents, we want our kids as safe, happy and comfortable as possible, especially when traveling long distances. When our sons Sam and Harry were 6 and 4 years old, we started going on weekend ski trips. Long distance travel on booster seats presented complaints with which every parent is familiar.

These are two of the complaints we heard. First, Sam, our 6 year old, was tired of what he described as a "baby seat". Second, both of our sons were uncomfortable and embarked upon a persistent and vocal campaign to express their discomfort. How do you deal with complaints that a booster seat is UNCOOL and UNCOMFORTABLE?

We stressed the importance of safety and the fact that riding in a booster seat is the law. Please verify your State's Laws. We made The Keester® in fun and exciting colors with a stream lined nylon siding to make it sporty looking. It is always COOL to obey the law...and to look good while you do it.

Diggity Kids Blue Dog LogoThen we set about the task of finding a comfort solution. It was essential that our design be comfortable, and portable. We tried egg crate foam and put it on top of the booster (too soft). We tried an old couch throw pillow (too soft and non-supportive). We tried a piece of memory foam (too marshmallowy). Finally, we sourced a customized high grade, high quality piece of polyurethane foam. We made multiple templates with various thickness, widths, and density. We drove thousands of miles with our kids sitting on the prototypes. With our most recent innovation and design, we discovered we had the perfect fit and had achieved big seat COMFORT in a little keester cushion. We ultimately created The Keester—the perfect complement to a booster seat or any hard surface on which your child sits.

So, what's up with the blue dog? We chose Blue Dog as our mascot because he has been there for our children for many years. When our first son Sam was born in 2000, his aunt and uncle brought a barking blue dog stuffed animal to the hospital and placed him in the bassinet to watch over Sam. When Harrison was born in 2001, Blue Dog was placed in his bassinet. When Zachary was born in 2009, Blue Dog was there to watch over him as well. He is loved by the boys and has brought each of them comfort. Blue Dog represents happiness and comfort—those things Diggity Kids hopes to bring to your children.

Sam and Harry and their six cousins love The Keester and have been an integral part of further product development and marketing. Harry brought his Keester to school because the desk chair in his class is too hard. As a result, Diggity Kids donated 20 Keesters to his classmates.

We are a family owned business and our children are the center of our lives. We want the best for our kids and we expect it to be done right. We have brought The Keester to you because we want your children in a booster seat that conforms with your state's laws, but also to provide a COMFORTABLE and COOL DIGGITY KIDS travel system that will provide your children with the same happiness it has brought ours. We guarantee it.
